ESCAP Information for Supervisors and Placements

2023 Emory Summer Child Advocacy Program

Information for Organizations and Supervisors

The Barton Child Law and Policy Center at Emory University School of Law is preparing for the 2022 Emory Summer Child Advocacy Program (ESCAP). All applications for Supervisors have been received and no further applications will be accepted at this time.

Funding is anticipated for up to ten students through a grant from the Children's Justice Act (CJA). To the extent possible, Emory University students will be given preference for placements in the Atlanta area. Placements outside the five-county metro-Atlanta area will be equally open to students from any graduate school in the country.

The ESCAP selection committee will facilitate matching students with organizations. Every effort is made to match preferences of both parties, but there is no guarantee that every placement will receive an intern. Organizations will receive from the Barton Center a list of candidates to interview in January. Students making inquiries directly to placements outside of the application process should be referred to Franklin Lebo, Barton Center Program Coordinator.

Below is a preliminary timeline of requirements. These dates are subject to change. Please note the dates on your organization's calendar that require organization's/supervisor's participation in the matching process (in bold).
